LEADING WITH PURPOSE

The East Bay Leadership Council is a public policy advocacy organization on a mission to increase economic vitality and quality of life in East Bay. Over the last 80 years we have established a reputation for effective advocacy, built a network of influential leaders, and delivered valuable marketing opportunities to our members. If you want to help lead the region, you are in the right place.

Helping Businesses Start, Stay and Grow

Job growth is not magic. Building a successful business requires creativity, commitment, and significant resources. We are dedicated to creating a competitive regional economy that supports employers of all sizes. Together we can ensure that the East Bay is the premier place for businesses to start, stay and grow.

Protecting A world class Quality of Life

Protecting the East Bay’s world class quality of life is a top priority. That means continuing the legacy of preserving natural space for wildlife to flourish and residents to enjoy, investing in transit that cuts commute times and greenhouse gas emissions, improving access to health care, and building enough homes for all.

Engage with a Task Force

Each of our task forces address pressing issues facing the region’s economy and quality of life. Participating in meetings is a great way to get involved while learning and networking with fellow East Bay leaders.

Democratic participation is key to the East Bay continuing to thrive. That’s why we launched our very own candidate training program designed to help local leaders run and win elected office.

We do not endorse candidates but are proud that eight alumni of our program are now serving in public office across the region.

Get matched to a nonprofit board

At the East Bay Leadership Council we believe that engaged communities are thriving communities. We also know that nonprofit organizations are essential to addressing the most pressing issues facing the East Bay.

Yet many nonprofits struggle to recruit the board members they need to move their mission and our communities forward.

That’s why we founded Engage East Bay in 2022 alongside the Contra Costa Economic Partnership with the goal of matching local leaders ready to make a difference with nonprofits seeking new board members.
